Elijah had his 2 month doctor's appointment yesterday. He now weighs 12 lbs, 1 oz! (which is the 50% range for his age), and he is only in the 10% for his length! We were sooo surprised, cause it seems like he has gotten so much longer, but I guess not long enough to be "average"! So, he is on the short end - but really no surprise there since both of us are short! Plus, the nurse told us that these numbers constantly change, so we'll have to wait and see what he is at his 4 month appointment. He also had to get 4 shots - it was so sad! :( I had to hold him and they gave him 2 shots in each leg. Poor little guy - the shots have knocked him out, so he has been sleeping a lot since he got them yesterday. It is so sad to see the bandaids on his legs. But, we know that these shots are to help him! We also discussed the reflux thing with the doctor and he thinks that he does have it and prescribed zantac for our little guy. We just want to be sure that he needs it and that it won't have any side effects, etc. Mandi, I think I remember that Dylan had to take this, too? If so, what do you think?
No pictures this time! :( I'll try and upload some new ones soon!

Yeah, both Dylan and Peyton had reflux and were on Zantac. It's supposedly one of the safest drugs on the market, and neither baby girl had ANY side effects.
I think you'll know right away if it's working or not...with both Peyton and Dylan, after we'd given it for a few days, they were happier (they had mostly silent reflux, meaning they didn't spit up TOO much, but they would arch their backs while feeding, etc, because it hurt), and they didn't get the hiccups as much (not just regular hiccups, but watery-sounding ones) and hardly ever spit up. If I missed a dose, you could tell immediately.
Dylan is down to one dose every few days; although I may increase her dosage so that I can introduce cheese and yogurt (dairy is what triggers hers). Trying to decide!
I'm praying that if it is reflux, that you'll see a noticable difference on the Zantac and that the Holy Spirit will give you peace as you decide how to handle it! ;)
Thanks so much, Mandi! I'll email you back on your "reflux email"! ;)
